During my board year as “Ruby Red” at s.v.i.d. Lucid, I fulfilled the role of secretary. Within this role, I was responsible for keeping overview within the board and association, while maintaining the year planning and communication both within the board and with the association, as well as having the end responsibility of promotion. The latter entailed creating promotional material, which was done with Adobe Illustrator, and being responsible for Lucid’s profiling as an association. With this, I developed my skills in visual communication in both promotion and planning. Furthermore, by having a central role within the board and policy, I gained a critical and strategic eye on collaboration and forward thinking.
Together with Ruby Red, I organized ID Symposium, an event that aimed to inspire and teach ID students what they can achieve with their degree, by means of workshops, networking and a dinner. Within the team, I was both the chairman and secretary, which allowed me to combine my power of planning with leadership, prioritization, and organization. This was done by providing a clear overview of everyone’s tasks and roles and ensuring the plans were still in line with the event’s vision and mission.
To expand on my professional skills, I’ve joined multiple committees throughout my Bachelor’s. This ranged from organizing a trip as a treasurer, to maintaining the yearbook planning as a secretary, to the role of chairman for UNID Magazine, which allowed me to set up a completely new committee structure. The committee from which I learned most was ID Connect, in which I was responsible for a part of stakeholder communication, but especially for the promotion and event setup.
